Sermons From a Box
May 3, 2008
The month of June will bring an intriguing sermon series during morning worship. Did you ever think you would have the opportunity to tell the pastor what to preach? Have you ever thought to yourself, “I have never heard a sermon on __________________ and would love to know more about that topic”? Now’s your chance!
In the welcome center is a red box labeled, “Sermons From a Box” just waiting for your suggestions. On this posting, church members and guests also have the opportunity to offer suggestions on sermon topics. Suggestions will be collected throughout the month of May. Let’s hear from you!

I have never heard a sermon on the dark side of God; passages like Exodus 4:24-26 where God wanted to kill Moses while he was on his way back to Egypt to deliver His people from bondage, or 2 Samuel 6:6-7 where God killed Uzzah for touching the ark (while he was preventing the ark from tumbling to the ground) - then David is angry and afraid of God (2 Sam 6:8-9).

In thinking about the Lord’s attributes, does the Lord change or not? (Malachi 3:6; and Genesis 6:6,7; Exodus 32:14; Jonah 3:10). How does God change his mind about something, if he is immutable? I can change my mind because I receive new information, how would God change his mind if he is omniscient?

Prayer and Fasting (Matt 18:19-20, Luke 19:46)
“I miss the small group prayer time I used to participating in, groups of 4-6 people to pray for special needs; which instilled a true sense of unity and the power of prayer.” - Anonymous

Who exactly is Satan? Is Lucifer the same person? Who are the Nephilim? They are mentioned in Genesis 6:4.
